Holiday Music by George Diehl and his Ukelele

On December 19th, 2023, Geoge Diehl entertained the residents of MVNRC with various Christmas and Holiday songs on his electric acoustic ukelele. Many residents sang along with George as he sang familiar songs, such as, “Here Comes Santa Claus”, “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas”, “Away in the Manager”, “Deck the Halls”, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”, “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”, and a Hawaiian Christmas song, to name a few.  George also included in his repertoire some fun holiday songs which included, “The Ever-Lasting Fruit Cake”, “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas”, “Leroy, the Redneck Reindeer”, “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” and “I Want a Ukelele for Christmas”, which brought out a lot of laughter from our residents and staff.

George informed his audience that he has been playing the ukulele for the past 4 years, and he learned to play by taking lessons on the internet. He also had a friend who played the ukulele, and she helped and encouraged him.  When George’s friend became a resident in a Nursing Home, he went to play for her and other residents at that facility. He now entertains at 3 Nursing Homes.

Thank you for bringing us some Christmas joy, and “Merry Christmas” to you, George.
