Easter Tradition Continues at MVNRC

“Here comes Peter Cotton Tail, hopping down the Bunny Trail, hippity, hoppity, Easter’s on its way.”

Residents at MVNRC were invited to dye hardboiled eggs in the Grande Room on March 28, 2024. The project included the dyeing of 10 dozen eggs, which the residents completed within an hour. Activity and Dietary staff provided the residents with cups of egg dye, eggs, trays for the eggs to dry on, and assistance as needed during this project.

The residents were happy that they could continue their tradition of dyeing eggs before Easter morning. The residents were smiling, laughing, and conversing as they watched their eggs turn from white into brightly colored eggs. After the eggs dried, they were collected by staff to be refrigerated.

A colored egg will appear on residents’ meal trays on Easter. A special “thank you” to the residents who participated in this project, which will put a smile on residents’ faces on Easter.

Happy Easter

With Easter in a few days, we wanted to take a moment and say to everyone have a safe and happy holiday from everyone at Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  We will try to have some great pictures from our Easter events next week be sure to keep an eye out for them.

Celebrating Easter 2020

Enjoying Easter with Residents

The Activities Dept. has been busy this past week celebrating Easter with all the residents. Let’s take a look at the event and try to enjoy it as the residents did. 

No snow, sleet, or virus can prevent us from enjoying the week of Easter with our residents. No, we couldn’t able to do our original activity but with some quick thinking by Mr. Bunny himself, we were able to come up with an Easter fun activity for all to enjoy.

Mr. Bunny helped residents with coloring a plastic egg for them to keep. After 4 days of …Mr. Bunny finally found who stole his tail. Staff Cindy S. stole Mr. Bunny’s tail, after making Mr. Bunny sad, she offered to give it back…but to his surprise he must have eaten too many chocolate eggs and his tail wouldn’t fit.

Celebrating Easter – Mahoning Valley Nursing

Easter Fun

Saturday, April 13th MVNRC held an Easter Fun day.  Residents, staff, and their families had a chance to decorate an Easter Cupcake made by our Dietary Department.  A special visitor also came and joined in on the fun. We also had some of the famous “Candy Man’s” yummy Easter candy for sale.  Thanks to all who came and participated in this fun day.

Sunday, March 25th, the Mahoning Valley Nursing Home, and Rehab Center held a Spring Fling-Easter Fun day for friends and family of residents and staff.  The Easter Bunny made his appearance for pictures with young and old. We also had stations of painting birdhouses, dying Easter eggs, and coloring Easter/Spring coloring sheets.  We were grateful to have homemade chocolates for sale from The Candyman-“The Bailey’s”. A raffle was also held with a basket donated by The Baileys and won by resident I. Yaconbenas. The weather tried to put a damper on our egg hunt but we didn’t let it and found a new way to get the children their eggs.  2 prize Golden eggs were found and claimed for a prize. Dietary made cupcakes and a Bunny cake for all to enjoy. A wonderful time was had by all that attended. A big “Thank you” to all who helped make this a wonderful and fun event.
