Exercise Group – The Macarena Wheelchair Dance

Who said the exercise group has to be boring???

Melissa P and Vicki B taught the residents with the help of YouTube. We taught them the moves 2 times and then we did the whole thing.  We are already looking for something new for next month. Make sure to check back and see what our next dance/exercise is.

WINDOW WALKING

Mall Walking

There are many good reasons that mall walking is an extremely popular and pleasant pastime, especially among senior citizens. Mall walking builds camaraderie with like-minded individuals and facilitates opportunities to forge new friendships. Many malls open early for mall walkers, and although the shops are closed, some concession kiosks are often open. Walkers enjoy the flat, safe surface on which to amble, the proximity to restrooms, and the pleasure of a clean water fountain. The location is safe, and in bad weather, walkers can enjoy the glamour of window after window of tempting merchandise to buy, revel in the color of creative marketing, and soak in the “sunlight” effect provided by lots of good old electric lights.

P.S. Mall walking is free and convenient, and there is often a bus stop on-site or nearby.  It’s a great senior exercise.
