We had a great time at our July 4th Parade! It was wonderful having Snickers and his mom Connie stop in as well, seeing the ever festive Nick. The residents enjoyed the parade and we look forward to the next time.
We recently ask patients about their experiences here at MVNRC? Karen, a long-term patient, was kind enough to give us her thoughts.
What do you think of the facility?
“I think it’s nice here. My parents were here a long time ago, and I didn’t plan on coming here, but I’m glad I ended up here.”
What do you think of the Dietary program?
“I think the food is good. There is plenty of variety and I like the portion sizes. It’s tailored to my likes and dislikes. ”
Tell me more about what makes you happy?
“The grounds are beautiful and well taken care of. Whenever my family comes, we go to the bench by the creek and it’s just beautiful. “
Today we had our first front porch outing of the season. We loved the warmth and simply sitting in the sun. The flowers were in full bloom and the birds were entertaining us with their songs. We shared memories of summers long ago, our hopes for the coming months, and even played ball with Krista from the therapy department! We are already looking forward to the next outing!
Today we held our annual cake walk for a nursing home week. The residents listened to some classic tunes while patiently waiting to choose their sweet treat. From Boston Crème cake and eclairs to lemon meringue pie and shoofly pie, there was a terrific piece for everyone’s taste. We would like to thank Debby, especially for all of her culinary efforts!
