Music with John Bauer

Music with John Bauer

John entertained the residents at MVNRC on March 25th, 2024, and was enjoyed by all. John is famous for singing a variety of songs including Show Tunes, Oldies, Hymns, and Spiritual songs. He entertained our residents with his songs, antics, animated moves, and direct interaction with residents. Our residents had a great time as they sang, smiled, laughed, listened intently, clapped, and interacted with John.

A few of the songs in his repertoire included: “The Red, Red Robin”, “As Irish Eyes Are Smiling”, “I Believe”, “Were You There?”, “How Great Thou Art”, “You Are My Sunshine”, “Tonight’s the Night”, PA Polka”, and “What Now My Love?” to name a few.

For years John sang in his church, as well as other churches. John’s singing career soared in 1973. In 1975, John recorded the first of his 4 albums, which was entitled, “Only a Shadow”, on location at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, in Bethlehem. John also sings at weddings and memorial services. John has been performing at Nursing Facilities for the past 15 years.

The residents had a great time, and the hour went by so quickly. At the end of his program, he received a loud round of applause and cheers. John stated, “It’s an honor to come here to perform and sing for you.”

Glenn Miller, THE ONE MAN BAND – CHRISTMAS at MVNRC

We are in full swing of Christmas here at Mahoning Valley. Activity staff decked the halls which involve putting a wreath on each room’s door and throughout the hallways. Decorating each Dining Room with a small tree and getting the Nurses’ Desk all decked out. Our big Christmas Tree in the Grande Room was decorated by Activity staff, while Glenn Miller, THE ONE MAN BAND, came to entertain our residents.

Keith Andrews live music

Last Friday we had Keith Walck come to perform for the residents.  This was his 2nd time coming to perform. Keith is the son of one of our residents.

He sings as well as plays his acoustic guitar. As you will see our residents thoroughly enjoyed this as they were singing along, clapping, and stomping their feet to each song.  Margaret even danced to her one favorite song. (Of course with staff right by.)

Enjoy these little videos and some pictures from this fun activity.
